The NDIS is meant to enable people with disabilities to participate in everyday activities like shopping, paying bills, getting a haircut, and going out to a movie. People with disabilities are very capable, and the NDIS enables them to live a normal life. If you have a disability, you may need help from others to do these things. Sometimes, this help will be provided by family members or friends. The NDIS provides extra support for people with disability so that they can live their lives as NDIS independently as possible. If you have an NDIS provider, this person will help you to get the right information for you and your family, and they will make sure that you are able to do the things that you want to do. They will also arrange for you to see the doctor that you need to visit.

What is the purpose of the NDIS?

The NDIS provides funding to eligible people with disability to gain more time with family and friends, greater independence, access to new skills, jobs, or volunteering in their community, and an improved quality of life. The NDIS also connects anyone with disability to services in their community.
